It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the possibility.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to deliver her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her debut and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in training, it's been a challenging time because it appeared I've had no rhythm at all," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your fighting spirit activate and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and after that the right-hander was in motion.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was dismissed the team needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

These statements will be the last Australia's opponents at this tournament need to hear.

During the last week a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

During that phase they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing despite the injury.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have delayed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is likely to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as leader.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
