Tehran is prepared to resume atomic talks with Washington provided that it is treated with "dignity" and "honor", Tehran's foreign minister has declared.

The Iranian diplomat said exclusively dialogue produced results, and shared fresh requests had come from intermediaries to resume discussions with the Trump administration. He claimed Iran possessed no unreported enrichment locations, and Iran was not yet able to authorize the global atomic watchdog to access bombed nuclear sites for safety concerns.

Walking a Complex Route

The foreign minister is navigating a challenging course since Iran does not want be seen to be acting from a position of weakness, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had emerged more powerful in military terms and emotionally from the Israeli-US attack on its enrichment centers in June.

He was addressing at a security conference in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "an inalienable right to enrich uranium on home soil that it will always maintain" – the primary cause of the stalemate in the prior discussions.

Prior Negotiations Suddenly Ended

The prior phases of negotiations between the US and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and acrimonious termination on 12 June when the Israeli government, with US support, targeted Tehran's atomic facilities in a fortnight-long engagement that ended with Donald Trump declaring the sites had been obliterated. Subsequently, EU nations used their privilege to reimpose UN-wide sanctions, but Iran asserts they have not had a substantial consequence.

Ideal Resolution Proposed

Iran's diplomats said they felt they had achieved a "magic solution" to the nuclear fuel concern in earlier negotiations, when it was settled an domestic cooperative with US participation could enrich uranium. The two nations would have been able to claim victory since local refinement would have continued and the US could be confident that Iran's atomic project was entirely non-military.

It had not been settled in the negotiations that US nuclear scientists could function inside Iran, but that was a reasonable assumption of the consortium proposal. He added: "We managed to survive this engagement. Our enrichment knowledge, which they planned to eliminate, remains in place. The sites and gear, if eliminated, will be restored; what is essential is the determination of the citizens of Tehran and then the national cohesion that they targeted, but did not succeed to break. The Iranian people have grown more resilient, more united, and more endorsing of the leadership and the country in the aftermath of this invasion."
